break down, jam out

my sweet little man practices on his guitar(s) every day. his commitment is admirable. occasionally he'll strum a tune he's been working on while i fix dinner, but it's rare that i see/hear a full-on jam session...and get to photograph it. swoooon!

i took some lessons a few months back, and while i enjoyed learning something new...i don't think my heart was really in it. i like seeing a finished product (or a semi-finished product at least) too much; as i played, my fingers chapped up, i trained my hands the positions of the chords, and i picked out songs that were easy enough and fun to sing along to...yet it wasn't as gratifying as whipping up a batch of buckeyes, or sewing a cheesy throw pillow.

there were times that phil and i would play together, and that was just so sweet. perhaps loving a musician means continually wanting to connect with them in that capacity. for now, i'm happy to just be a supportive groupie.
